Survival Objects
This project was developed through a research of Chicago neighborhoods with
large concentration of immigrant communities. The installation worked with a
mechanical system, where the spectator could pull up and down boxes, containing
specific objects aquired in each neighborhood. The objects to travel were,
in each case, a variation of; a learning English book, a religion image, a fast
food traditional dish, envelopes, a magazine in their own language, a traditional
medicine, a music tape, among others.
