Through mapping, this project exposes audiovisual essays, which comprehend metaphors of geographic representations, in relation of the emigration displacement. The work is fundamentally constituted of maps and sound archives. The sound is composed of testimonials of emigrants of various nationalities, who reside in several industrial cities. The project should be located in cities with long history on immigration. Through the use of anecdotes and stories told in their mother language, the narrators describe the physical characteristics of their homeland (home, neighborhood, state) as well as their transition to this country, and their current place of residence. In this way the narration tries to highlight reflections around concepts such as border and territory into a global context. The graphic materials oscillate between aerial photographs (such as satellite images) and maps, denoting a more an abstract idea of space. With this visual elements, will be reconstructed new maps describing field connections, relationships, extensions, ideas and references of the journey. These variables and observations create a graphic metaphor of the remembered. Each testimony will be constructed with a unique treatment, as a visual essay.
